HAVE A QUESTION?

Check the answers to our most Frequently Asked Questions, or fire us an enquiry and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

What type of window cleaning do you do?

We clean residential, commercial, and industrial building windows – inside and out! We can access just about any windows from the ground floor up to 6 storeys high, and gutters up to 3 storeys high.

How often should I get my house windows cleaned?

Most residential clients require their windows cleaned every 3 – 6 months, however this can vary depending on a range of factors, such as traffic pollution, if the house is near the beach and is affected by salt spray, or if there are a lot of little children or pets putting dirty hands or paws on the glass, etc.

How far in advance do I need to book?

We can often carry out the job within the same week of your enquiry. If you’re in a rush, it may be possible to arrange to have the job done in the same visit as the quote. To speed things up, email us the address with a good description of the job and, if possible, a few photos. Alternatively, call us now and check our availability.

What is included in your window cleaning service?

Obviously, we clean the glass. We also wipe the frames and clean any fly screens. If there are little paint spots or hard marks, we will remove them – however, where there is a lot of scraping or after renovation grime to remove, additional charges will be incurred. Please be sure to mention anything like that at the time of booking. If you need your window tracks (the bottom part of the window frame that a sliding window moves across) cleaned, please mention this before we provide you with your quote.

Do you clean fly screens?

Yes we do. Keeping fly screens (or fly wire) clean helps to keep the windows clean too. Please mention if you have fly screens at your place at the time of booking.

How much does window cleaning cost?

The price for window cleaning depends on the amount and difficulty of the windows, but please review our current pricing for average costs based on home size and levels.

For simple and smaller jobs, we often can give you a price straight away – please provide details via the contact form (right) and we will get back to you ASAP. For other jobs, we are happy visit your site in person to provide you with a FREE quote, no strings attached.

How do you accept payment?

You can pay your window cleaner on the day by cash, Eftpos or credit card. Payment via online banking can be arranged by prior agreement.

Can you provide me with a tax invoice?

Of course! All of our window cleaners are willing and happy to provide you with a tax invoice via email on the spot.

How do you reach the outsides of my high windows?

While some window exteriors can be accessed from inside, we also use poles and tall ladders where required. For difficult to access windows, we utilise Reverse Osmosis technology (a long, water-fed pole with pure water), which can reach up to 3 floors and delivers sparkling results to glass and the surrounds.

Will you still come if it is raining?

We normally continue working if it is raining lightly. However, if we consider the weather dangerous for work – ie, stormy and high winds or difficult ladder work –we would re-schedule.

Doesn’t rain make the windows dirty?

Not really. The three main reasons windows become dirty are:

  • Pollen and dust
  • Insect droppings
  • Finger prints

If these are present on the glass when it rains, the residue in the rain attaches itself to the dirt and often makes the windows look worse. So if the windows have recently been cleaned, then the rain will simply run off the clean glass and the windows continue to remain clean.

Do you clean after building work?

Yes! We provide post construction and builders’ cleans for internal and external windows, frames, tracks and high pressure cleaning of external surfaces. Note; we do not do general interior surface cleaning.

Modern Glass requires great care, specialised equipment and cleaning products to avoid scratching – in particular, new insulated coated glass. This specialised type of window cleaning work is best left to us professionals!

Can you prepare Safe Work Method Statements?

Yes – we can provide you with a SSSP once a job has been confirmed. Please let us know in advance if this will be required.

Do your window cleaners have all the necessary insurance cover?

Absolutely. We are covered by $10 million Public Liability insurance, and are happy to forward a copy of the Certificates of Currency on request.
